BCF Ultrasound offer in-clinic training for small animal and equine clients, covering ultrasound physics, knobology and a systematic approach to the abdominal ultrasound examination.

BCF Ultrasound offer in-clinic training targeted that those that wish to get more out of their current ultrasound machine.

This is a lecture-based, interactive course delivered by our staff veterinarian.

This course will equip you with the skills to perform a systematic approach to the canine or equine abdomen and review the normal anatomy and ultrasonographic appearance of the abdominal organs.

At the end of the course you should have a knowledge of the following:

  • Basic Ultrasound Physics
  • Basic image optimisation
  • A systematic ultrasound examination of the canine or equine abdomen
  • The anatomy and ultrasound findings in the normal canine or equine abdomen
  • Focused techniques for emergency situations
  • Saving and sending appropriately annotated clips for obtaining second opinions

This is an introductory course only: pathology and more advanced skills will not be covered. We recommend attending our weekend workshops with imaging/internal medicine specialists if comfortable with the basic concepts of ultrasound.
