About

More Than a Supplier — Your Veterinary Ultrasound Partner

BCF Ultrasound is an Australasian-owned, family-operated veterinary imaging specialist dedicated to supplying premium ultrasound machines, certified in-house servicing, and hands-on clinical support throughout Australia and New Zealand. As a family business, we value long-term relationships and take genuine pride in supporting the veterinary professionals who rely on us.

Whether you’re upgrading your clinic, expanding services, or refining your diagnostic capabilities, BCF Ultrasound provides the technology, expertise, and ongoing support to help you practice with confidence.

Supporting the Veterinary Community

BCF Ultrasound operates fully equipped service workshops across Australia and New Zealand, providing advanced diagnostics, repairs, probe servicing, recelling, and preventative maintenance for veterinary ultrasound equipment.

Unlike distributors who send machines offshore for repair, our in-house engineers manage the entire process locally — ensuring faster turnaround times, genuine parts, certified procedures, and minimal downtime for your clinic.

1995

Where it All Began

BCF Ultrasound began in 1995 in Dunedin, New Zealand, founded by Chris Graham — a meticulous technician with a sharp interest in emerging technology and improving how veterinary imaging could be delivered in the field.

In its earliest days, BCF became the exclusive distributor of BCF Technology (now IMV Imaging), shortly after the release of the wildly successful OVI-Scan. The demand was immediate — and so was the need for expert local servicing and support.

What began as a distribution partnership quickly evolved into something deeper: a reputation built on technical precision, hands-on service, and genuine care for the veterinarians relying on this equipment every day.

That engineering-first mindset still shapes BCF today.

2000

Broadening the Diagnostic Horizon

By the early 2000s, BCF Ultrasound had evolved into a recognised leader in veterinary-specific ultrasound diagnostics.

As demand grew, so did our offering — expanding into small animal and equine imaging with premium systems from Mindray and FUJIFILM Sonosite.

The team expanded to meet increasing demand, strengthening both our technical servicing capacity and our clinical understanding of veterinary workflows. BCF became known not just for supplying equipment, but for delivering practical, vet-focused imaging solutions backed by real expertise.

2005

Down Under

In 2005, BCF Ultrasound relocated its headquarters to Melbourne, Australia, reflecting the company’s expanding footprint across Australasia.

Establishing a base in Melbourne enabled BCF to strengthen distribution, service capabilities, and customer support throughout Australia and New Zealand—while continuing to deliver the technical expertise and personalised guidance that defined its early years.

2010

Engineering in Action

In 2010, Chris founded Graham Innovations — an engineering department born from real-world challenges observed in the field.

Rather than relying solely on manufacturers, Graham Innovations was created to design and develop supplementary products that enhance the performance, ergonomics, and longevity of ultrasound machines.

From workflow-driven accessories to purpose-built solutions like the NFI Focus, every product was designed with one goal: to support clinicians in practical, meaningful ways.

This marked a shift for BCF — from supplying technology to actively improving it.
