What is the cost of ultrasound machines for veterinarians?
Veterinary ultrasound machines vary in cost depending on image quality, features, and how they’re used in practice. Entry-level systems may suit basic applications, while clinic-grade portable and cart-based machines are designed for more frequent use and broader clinical capability.
At BCF Ultrasound, we focus on professional, clinic-grade systems that offer high image quality, reliability, and long-term value, supported by local service and training. Pricing reflects this level of performance and support.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all price, we work with you to recommend a system that suits your caseload, workflow, and goals — ensuring the best return on your investment.
What equipment can BCF Ultrasound service and repair?
At BCF Ultrasound, our fully trained specialist engineers are able to look after a wide variety of ultrasound and viewing equipment.
BCF Ultrasound are the official approved veterinary service centres for all ultrasound equipment that we have sold, including:
- E.I. Medical
- IMV Imaging
- Graham Innovations

- Sonosite
How do I arrange for my equipment to be sent to BCF for service or repair?
We ask that you suitably package and label the box that you put the equipment into for transport. It is also important that you let us know the reason for service, so we can get straight to the issue.
Service Form Options
A fully completed service form MUST accompany any equipment sent in for servicing with BCF Ultrasound. This helps us to identify your equipment, keep you informed of progress, as well as help us resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Option 1: Print – Complete – Attach as Note with Equipment sent for Repair
Please ensure that you print out and hand complete our service form and attach it to your equipment when you send it in.
Option 2: Complete Digitally – Email or Fax to BCF Ultrasound
Alternatively, type directly into our digital service form - then save a copy to your PC and email or fax it in to us at the appropriate office in Au or NZ. Click here for contact details.
Please note – You will need to have Adobe Acrobat downloaded to your computer to access the digital service form – please click here.
You will be contacted within 48 (business) hours of receiving your ultrasound equipment with a progress update and advice on next steps.
How do I package equipment to be sent to bcf for service or repair?
It is important for you to suitably package your equipment, so it is not damaged whilst being couriered to BCF. This means using a sufficiently strong cardboard box, that you can place material such as bubble wrap around the equipment to prevent any possible damage.
Please clearly label the box.
For Australia please label:
BCF Ultrasound Australasia
Unit 13/ 23A Cook Road, Mitcham VIC 3132
Tel: (03) 9874 7543
For New Zealand please label:
BCF Ultrasound Australasia
166 West street, Feilding, 4702
Tel: 09 257 1212
It is very useful if you add details of your business inside the box, so that we can easily identify your equipment when it arrives with us.
To speed up your service or repair also please ensure that your equipment has been cleaned before being packaged.
How long does servicing or repair usually take?
Timeframes vary depending on the type of service, complexity, and availability of parts. Repair jobs and in-season work are prioritised where possible. We will provide an estimated turnaround time once the equipment has been received.
Loan and hire equipment
We offer a limited number of loan units, prioritised for warranty repairs. Availability is subject to stock.
What warranties do you provide?
We offer warranties of 3-5 years depending on the model.
Ex-demo or secondhand models come with no or limited warranties subject to their age. This will be disclosed when quoted.
Please contact us for more information.
Cart-based vs portable, what's better?
This depends on your clinic’s workflow, space, and how you use ultrasound day to day.
Cart-based systems are typically suited to clinics with a dedicated imaging room and higher caseloads, where the machine remains largely stationary.
Portable ultrasound systems offer greater flexibility and are often preferred by clinics that move between consult rooms, work across multiple sites, or value ease of storage and transport. Many of our clients choose portable systems for their convenience without compromising on image quality.
Do you sell ultrasound for human medical?
No, we only sell ultrasound imaging machines for veterinary application.
Do you sell Sonosite?
Sonosite no longer manufacture ultrasound machines for veterinary (only human medical) and we generally don't have any secondhand Sonosite ultrasound machines in stock. If you purchased from us in the past, we are still able to service these machines.
If you're looking to upgrade your Sonosite M-Turbo or Sonosite Edge, we have great options - so please get in touch with our team.
How do I clean and maintain my ultrasound machine and transducer?
Purchasing an ultrasound system is a big investment and proper maintenance of your system is essential for protecting that investment.
Cleaning is an important part of ultrasound system maintenance and disinfecting your transducer is vital to protecting your patients and staff. Unfortunately, there is no single disinfectant approved for use by all manufacturers for all of their transducers.
Follow our Youtube channel @bcfultrasoundau for some cleaning, disinfection and maintenance tips and useful links to manufacturers' guidelines.
Which headset is better? Monocular or binocular goggles?
This ultimately comes down to personal preference; however, we generally recommend the monocular goggles, which account for the majority of our Australian sales. They offer better peripheral vision and reduced sunlight interference when working in the field. These goggles are designed in-house, with a strong focus on image quality, durability, and ease of use.
In New Zealand, many clients opt for binoculars as they are typically working indoors (e.g. dairy sheds) and are more familiar with that setup.
My Easi-Scan battery isn't working
The pogo pins that connect your battery to your machine or charger can deteriorate if contaminated. We recommend cleaning this area with isopropyl (or contact cleaner) on a regular basis (tutorial here).
If your battery is still not charging, it could be an internal issue and requires being sent in to our workshop.
